The Medpage ST-1 is a patent applied for product resulting from years of feedback from users and professionals of the popular Medpage range of seizure detectors. The ST-1 has been designed to provide simple to use seizure and breathing monitor functions for home care use while including features required for use in professional care establishments. The ST-1 uses microprocessor technology to analyse the breathing patterns and sleeping movements of the user. Seizure activity is very quickly detected with alarms relayed to the care provider. The monitor is suitable for use by all age groups including babies.

The Medpage ST-1 uses a sensor sheet that is positioned under the bed mattress, resting on the base of the patients bed. A one time setup procedure is required to fine tune the senor to suit the users breathing movements and type of bed. This information is stored in the monitors memory. The setup procedure takes only a few seconds and can be quickly reset if the monitor is required for another patient. The ST-1 will then reliably monitor the patient for breathing and seizure activity.

Medpage ST1-RX Portable Alarm Receiver

• Single or multiple seizure alarm monitoring - up to four individual alarms. Built in audible alarm operates when signalled from seizure monitor. Monitor number LED flashes. Alarm operative until manually reset.
• Visual and audible alarm seizure monitor fault indication. Reports loss of radio signals, potential interference problems, seizure monitor backup battery low.
• Output sockets for control of external devices direct connection to nurse call system, telephone auto dialler for off-site emergency alarm.
• Internal battery backup - 48 hours.

The ST-1 system offers the care provider the ultimate solution for patient safety with alarms for seizure detection, breathing cessation and bed occupancy. The bed occupancy function raises an alarm should the patient rise or fall out of their bed. Also for patients at risk from falls, the ST-1 is extremely reliable as it detects the person rather than the weight of the person.
